Printer Sharing problem please help?

i have a Brother HL-2140 and have been trying to get printer sharing working. I ran the network setup wizard and set the share name and enabled printer sharing. Then i right click on my printer in “Printers and Faxes” and select sharing. I then set a share name such as “BROTHER” and then i click apply. I then exit it and go back into it and it says that it has not been shared. I tried using Network Magic and that works fine. It shares it and stays shared and allows other computers to NETGEAR print, but it was a trial so i had to install it. If it has anything to do with i have the printer hooked up to the main computer and the router hooked up to the main computer. When i try on a laptop and try to add a printer, it can’t find it, which is extremely annoying if anyone can help me it would be greeatly appreciated

You are following the correct procedure. When you select ‘Add wizard”, make sure that the printer was installed as a “Local printer”.

Then , right click on the icon and select SHARING and give it a name.

Now REboot the computer so it knows about it LOL.

Now go on the other computers and select “ADd wizard but, this time, selct network printer. It will present you with a menu to Browse. You should see the printer on that menu. Click on it and give it a minute so the computers can detect the printer and sharing. That’s it.
