Printer Problems? Canon i80 inkjet printer?
For a while now, my printer’s been acting up coz whenver I go to print something, a message appears on the screen saying that the colour ink tank has not been installed. I’ll go to take it out and stick it in again and reset the ink counter, but it keeps saying that the colour ink tank has not been installed. What should I do? Has anyone else had a similar experience with canon printers?

The ink tanks for my printer don’t seem to have any external computer chips. . .and I have already tried cleaning the ink tanks/connectors and the printer head.
Touching the chip may damage it if not cleaned properly. First step you wanna make sure of is make sure the ink cartridge is in the right slot depending on which ink you’ve bought (color or black).
Make sure you’ve also secured the catridge in the slot. Next turn off your printer and turn it back on that will allow the printer to reset then calculate the newly added ink.
With canon sometimes you may have to restart the computer as well. Or unlplug the printer cable from the computer and plug it back in.
